Pokémon 30th Celebration: English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese Compared
The 30th Celebration range uses familiar Pokémon across several languages, but the boxes do different jobs. Some contain ready-made decks, some combine booster packs with display pieces, and the English Ultra-Premium Collections are much larger bundles. Comparing the price of one sealed box with another is only useful after checking exactly what each contains.
This comparison focuses on the September–November 2026 TCG releases. “English” refers to the US product lineup; Simplified Chinese refers to Mainland China, and Traditional Chinese refers to the Taiwan/Hong Kong language edition. The prices are PokeAri’s USD prices checked on 8 September 2026, before shipping and sales tax.
English: what the Day & Night UPC actually includes
The English Ultra-Premium Collection comes in Day and Night editions. Each contains 29 regular 30th Celebration booster packs and one Classic Collection pack containing three cards. The featured pairing is Pikachu ex with Espeon ex or Umbreon ex, alongside accessories. The announced US release is 6 November 2026.
The smaller English Sylveon ex and Greninja ex Boxes arrive on 16 September: each has four packs, a promo card and an oversize version. English Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks follow on 30 October as separate 60-card decks.
These choices serve different budgets and collecting preferences. No corresponding English anniversary product price was listed in PokeAri’s catalog when checked, so this article does not assign the English version a price ranking.

Simplified Chinese: separate decks, display sets and a two-Pokémon gift box
The Simplified Chinese Premium Deck Set is offered as an Espeon ex or Umbreon ex variant. Each includes one corresponding deck, a metal deck case, play accessories and two 30th Celebration packs. At US$47.18 per variant, it is the lowest-priced deck option in this comparison.
The Espeon & Umbreon Gift Box is a different format: two featured foil cards, a dual-card display frame, two themed magnets and 15 packs. Its current sale price is US$156.13. It is oriented toward displaying the two Pokémon and opening packs.
A smaller Card Display Set offers either Greninja ex or Sylveon ex, with a matching foil card, display holder and three packs, at US$40.82. These Simplified Chinese products are listed for 16 September 2026.

Traditional Chinese: both decks in one set
The Traditional Chinese Premium Deck Set includes an Espeon ex 60-card deck and an Umbreon ex 60-card deck. It also contains a metal double-deck case, two coins, counters and markers, a playmat and guides. Its official contents list does not include booster packs.
PokeAri’s price is US$229.60, with a 16 September release date. For someone who specifically collects Traditional Chinese cards or wants both decks in the matching double-deck presentation, those are meaningful features. Someone who only wants packs to open is paying for a format designed around a different use.

Comparing value without treating every box as equivalent
For two decks, buying both Simplified Chinese variants would total US$94.36, versus US$229.60 for the Traditional Chinese two-deck set: a US$135.24 difference at these prices. The two Simplified Chinese sets also include four booster packs in total. This is a comparison of the cost to obtain two decks; the language, card treatments, packaging and accessories should still be checked individually.
For pack opening, the Simplified Chinese booster box works out to about US$6.50 per pack. Dividing the entire Gift Box price by its 15 packs gives US$10.41; doing the same for the three-pack Card Display Set gives US$13.61. The last two figures include the cost of the guaranteed card and display items. They are bundle-cost ratios, not a claim that the packs themselves are worth more.
The Gift Box costs US$26.14 more than the booster box while containing five fewer packs. Its appeal therefore depends on how much the two featured cards, frame and magnets matter to the collector. If those pieces would stay unused, the booster box is the more economical pack-opening choice among these listed options.
The English UPC needs its own calculation once an actual price is available. Its Classic Collection pack contains three cards and is a different pack format, so treating the UPC as thirty interchangeable regular boosters would obscure part of what the buyer receives. A lower total checkout price also needs to be weighed against local shipping and tax for a global buyer.
Which version makes sense for whom?
For a collector starting a Simplified Chinese collection, one deck or a small display set offers a lower initial spend than the larger boxes listed here. For someone who wants both Traditional Chinese decks and the matching storage set, the Traditional Chinese product is a coherent package, although its current PokeAri price is substantially higher than buying both Simplified Chinese deck variants.
For an English-language collection, the English products avoid mixing card languages. The UPC suits someone who wants its featured cards, accessories and particular pack mix; a smaller English box may be enough for someone interested in a single Pokémon. This comparison cannot determine the better-priced English option without an actual quote.
The useful question is what will remain valuable to you after opening: the language of the cards, a guaranteed featured card, two decks to use, display pieces, or simply more packs. There is no universal best-value language, and none of these price comparisons predicts future resale value.
